Well, file this under WOW!
When I read this headline from the New York Post, I thought for sure it was a satire article…but no!
He really said it!
Yup, take a look:
Ok, so let the speculation run wild!
Who do you think he was talking about?
Let's see.....Martin Van Buren? Probably not!
Teddy Roosevelt? Doubtful.
Bill Clinton? He most definitely liked the ladies.
Bush the elder or Bush the junior? Not that I'm fans of either one, but they were both married and seemed to like ladies.
George Washington? The manliest man around? Unlikely!
Lincoln? Nope!
Truman? Hell no!
Carter? Not a manly man, but I don't think gay.
Kennedy? Ummm, not when he has Jackie O!
Grant? No way.
I feel like I'm forgetting a few.....I wonder who he was talking about? 🤔
Does anyone have any ideas?
Here's more, from the NY Post:
Mayor Pete Buttigieg doesn’t believe he’ll be the first gay president if elected in 2020.
“I would imagine we’ve probably had excellent presidents who were gay — we just didn’t know which ones,” he told “Axios on HBO.”
“I mean, statistically, it’s almost certain.”
Asked if he possibly knew which commander-in-chief wasn’t straight, the Democratic hopeful said: “My gaydar even doesn’t work that well in the present, let alone retroactively. But one can only assume that’s the case.”
Buttigieg — who is mayor of South Bend, Ind. — has been rising in the polls as of late. He would be the first openly gay presidential candidate, if nominated next year.
The 37-year-old has been asked in the past about the possibility of there ever being a gay president, with BuzzFeed posing the question back in March.
“My gaydar is not great to begin with and definitely doesn’t work over long stretches of time,” he repeated. “I think we’ll just have to let the historians figure that out.”
