Where was the Outrage when Obama Wanted to Settle Illegals in Alabama?

The White House has reportedly approached Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at least two times in the recent past to propose relocating illegals to sanctuary cities.

Liberals have responded to President Trump’s proposal of settling illegals in sanctuary cities with sheer outrage. They call his plan “sick and twisted.”

According to The Daily Caller:

The Trump administration’s discussion of a plan to drop illegal migrants off in sanctuary cities met with an unexpected pushback Thursday from some of the most vocal advocates of laxer immigration laws.

According to a Washington Post report published Thursday, the White House approached Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at least twice to propose that illegal border-crossers be transported to sanctuary cities.

The idea was initially floated by White House senior adviser Stephen Miller, who suggested that it would take some of the strain off the overcrowded detention centers while sending a message to sanctuary cities — most of which are controlled by opponents of the president’s immigration policies.

ICE called the proposal “inappropriate,” and argued that it could present a public relations problem. In a surprise move, a fair number of liberals sided with ICE. And some of them suddenly appeared to be concerned that a rapid influx of illegal migrants might actually pose some of the threats Trump has been claiming it would.

Actress Alyssa Milano, who has long been an advocate for fewer restrictions on migrant families, called the move “sick and twisted.”

What happened? I thought the Democrats, led by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), wanted illegals to come to America? Didn’t they say they would welcome illegals with open arms?

Aren’t the liberals the ones with all of the “Refugees Welcome” and “No Human is Illegal” bumper stickers on their eco-friendly cars?

Also, where was the same vicious outrage when Obama wanted to settle illegals in Alabama?

According to AI:

The [Obama] White House is considering a plan to relocate thousands of illegal immigrant children to the home state of U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, causing some to question whether presidential politics is at play.

Sessions has for years has led the opposition to immigration policies supported by President Barack Obama. The plan would send the children to Baldwin County, across the bay from Sessions’ home in Mobile County.

Sessions has also emerged among Donald Trump’s fiercest supporters and was the first senator to endorse the GOP presidential nominee.Trump’s hardline immigration approach – which includes deportation of all undocumented immigrants and a wall built along the U.S.-Mexican border — has been embraced by Sessions.

“It’s highly probable that this is more political than practical,” said Baldwin County Commissioner Chris Elliott.

Said Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack: “I hope that is not the case. The polls I’ve seen is Alabama is very conservative on the immigration issue. The federal government is not.”

So now, all of a sudden, because President Trump wants to give the Democrats what they’ve said they wanted all along, it’s harmful to our nation?

President Trump got liberals everywhere to either admit that having illegals come into our country would be harmful to our communities, or to accuse President Trump of vilifying illegal immigrants, painting them as criminals:

However, he is still doubling down on his plan to both send more troops to the border, and to release immigrant detainees into sanctuary cities, as the current law states that the Federal Government can only detain these illegal immigrants for 20 days.

According to Fox News:

President Trump responded to reports Friday that his administration proposed releasing immigrant detainees in sanctuary cities by not only confirming the plan but saying it remains under “strong” consideration.

Further, the president tweeted that relocating illegal immigrants to these districts should make the “Radical Left” happy.

The comments came after The Washington Post first reported that the White House proposed sending the detainees to sanctuary cities twice in the last six months. The proposal was first floated in November amid reports of a large migrant caravan from Central America making its way to the southern border. The idea was again considered in February, amid the standoff with Congress over a border wall.

Maybe, just maybe, the two sides should actually work together to find a solution that fixes the border crisis once and for all. No more band-aids and damage control when it all gets out of hand. We cannot have a country without strong borders.
