The week is the gift that keeps giving for President Trump. First, the president was exonerated of Russian Collusion, then ObamaCare was deemed unconstitutional by DOJ, and now, he gets some of his wall funding –at least enough to start the construction.
Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan authorized the transfer of $1B to begin the construction of the new wall along the Mexican border. He gave Trump the green light to use as much as $1B in military funds to start building. Trump said he will request $8B more in 2020 Senate budget.

Fox News Picked up the story and here’s what they had to say:
The Pentagon notified Congress late Monday that it authorized the transfer of up to $1 billion to erect 57 miles of “pedestrian fencing” along the U.S.-Mexico border in direct support of President Trump’s national emergency declaration from last month.
The fencing, which will be 18 feet high, is to be erected in the Yuma and El Paso sectors, the statement read. The Pentagon’s announcement was notable. A reporter from the New York Times tweeted that it is the first time the funds will be transferred under section 284 for the border wall.
Section 284 allows the Pentagon to “construct roads and fences and to install lighting to block drug-smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of Federal law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.
The fact is, this story should not be a political one. As Trump has said over and over, the crisis at the border is real and it is dangerous. It is a great thing for all Americans that the border will finally get its funding and the Americans who live and/or work at the border will be safe.
