LaCorte News reports:
Ilhan Omar will not be stripped of her position on the House foreign affairs committee amid an effort to have the congresswoman removed for making comments about pro-Israel groups that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have described as anti-Semitic.
The story: The committee chairman Eliot Engel (D-Bronx) said Tuesday night that removing her from her seat on the committee would be considered “retribution” and “will not solve the problem of anti-Semitism.” Engel’s statement comes after numerous Republicans suggested that she should step down and a letter from a group of Jewish organization asking House Speaker Pelosi and Engel to strip her of her spot.
