President Trump just scored another massive win for the U.S.A.
Farmers specifically will benefit, as China has just committed to buying 10 MILLION metric tons of soybeans!
Another huge win, and the China deal is not even anywhere near being finished!
Trump has a lot more progress he will make there, trust me.
Speaking of China, I want to show you this clip from an article that ran in CNBC today:
Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an optimistic message to President Donald Trump in a letter Friday, calling on the U.S. and China to redouble their efforts to meet halfway on a trade deal that has been the subject of high-level bilateral meetings this week in Washington.
Trump was more tepid in his response to reporters, saying that the while the U.S.′ relationship with China has been good, “who knows” whether a final deal will be made.
Trump’s Oval Office meeting Friday afternoon with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He followed reports that the U.S. and China are considering a late-March meeting between Trump and Xi at the president’s Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida. Trump confirmed that he will “probably” meet Xi at his resort next month.
People….if you’ve ever been involved in a negotiation, or if you’ve lived on this planet for more than 10 years, you intuitively know who has the strength in this negotiation just from this short clip.
When the over-enthusiast guy walks into the car dealership with an “optimistic message” and wants to “redouble efforts” to buy a car, let me tell you something, that guy is paying FULL PRICE. The salesman sees that mark from a mile away!
When the guy who’s tepid and not really that interested walks into the car dealership and the salesman tries everything to get him excited and the reply is “who know”….let me tell you something, that guy is getting ever discount they can offer!
The over-enthusiast guy in a negotiation ALWAYS loses.
And it’s a tip of the hand when you’re too eager to make a deal.
Trump (and the United States) is sitting in a position of MASSIVE STRENGTH.
We’re in no rush.
We don’t need this deal.
China needs this deal.
And that short clip from the CNBC article tells you all you need to know.
So it’s no wonder that we got this wonderful story today and a big win for our farmers:
Here's more on the story, from Agriculture.com:
China committed to buy an additional 10 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans in a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said on Twitter.
The commitments are a “show of good faith by the Chinese” and “indications of more good news to come,” Perdue wrote.
U.S. President Donald Trump met Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in the Oval Office on Friday and suggested it was likely the globe’s two largest economies would be able to make a deal to resolve their trade war.
Beijing last year imposed tariffs on imports of U.S. agricultural goods, including soybeans, grain sorghum and pork, slashing shipments of American farm products to China.
China resumed buying some U.S. soy in December, after Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping struck a trade war truce, but sales are still lagging.
As of last Thursday, only 7.4 million tonnes of the most recent U.S. soybean harvest had been sold to China, well short of the 26 million in purchases at the same point last year, according to the latest USDA export sales data.
