NATIONAL POLL: Do You Still Have Trump's Back 100%?

Capitol Police on Monday arrested 128 people who descended on Senate office buildings to protest Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and urge swing-vote senators to reject him.

A spokeswoman said authorities arrested 46 people just outside of room 413 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, which is Sen. Susan Collins‘s (R-Maine) office, and charged them with unlawful demonstrations.

Another 82 people were removed from the Rotunda of the Russell Senate Office Building and charged with crowding, obstructing or incommoding, the spokeswoman said.

Hundreds of protesters affiliated with the Be A Hero campaign and other progressive organizations took to the Capitol on Monday. They lined the walls outside the offices of Collins and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), who are both seen as potential swing votes in Kavanaugh’s confirmation process.

Demonstrators wore shirts that said “Believe Women” and “Be A Hero” in support of Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, who have each accused Kavanaugh of separate incidents of sexual assault. Kavanaugh has strongly denied the allegations.

Those against Kavanaugh’s confirmation have focused their efforts on Collins, Flake and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). Two Republican senators and all 49 Democrats would need to vote “no” to prevent Kavanaugh from being confirmed.
