TRUMP TO NYT: Liberal Media Will Give Up, I’ll Win Again In 2020

Trump has slyly referenced running for re-election in 2020 at numerous rallies. But speaking to the New York Times yesterday, he sounded like he meant it.

Speaking in Palm Beach, the President told a contingent of NYT reporters that while the mainstream media loves to knock him around, they also depend on Trump for profit.

Therefore, he said, they’ll tend to be more apprehensive than excited about challengers to his Presidency.

President Donald Trump says the media will eventually cover him more favorably — because they are profiting from interest in his presidency and will want him to get re-elected, The New York Times reported.

In an interview at his West Palm Beach, Florida, golf course, Trump told the newspaper he regularly insults as the “failing New York Times” that the media will “tank” without him.

“Another reason that I’m going to win another four years is because newspapers, television, all forms of media will tank if I’m not there, because without me, their ratings are going down the tubes,” Trump told the newspaper. “Without me, The New York Times will indeed be not the failing New York Times, but the failed New York Times.”

“So they basically have to let me win,” he added. “And eventually, probably six months before the election, they’ll be loving me because they’re saying, ‘Please, please, don’t lose Donald Trump.’ O.K.”

Trump moves the needle for sure. Many mainstream news executives will privately lament his absence someday.

But we’re thinking a roaring economy, the defeat of ISIS and the restoration of American greatness will provide bigger planks to run on in 2020.
