JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon will be deposed over the bank’s relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The bank faces accusations of enabling Epstein’s sex trafficking ring to retain him as a client.

A lawyer involved with the lawsuits said Dimon will be interviewed under oath about the bank’s ties to Epstein.

Reuters reported:

JPMorgan’s relationship with the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, is coming under scrutiny.

The bank’s CEO Jamie Dimon will be interviewed under oath about the bank’s decision to retain him as a client, a lawyer involved in the litigation said on Tuesday.

JPMorgan has been accused of enabling the financier’s sex trafficking.

Epstein – who killed himself in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial – banked with JP Morgan between 2000 and 2013.

During the last five years as a client, he was a convicted sex offender, having pled guilty to a Florida prostitution charge.

Dimon’s testimony is expected to take place in May, and is the latest development in two high-profile cases brought against JP Morgan, America’s largest bank.

The first – a proposed class action by Epstein’s accusers.

The second – a case brought by the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned a home.

The New York Post added:

Earlier this month, US District Judge Jed Rakoff ordered JPMorgan Chase to turn over documents linked to Dimon from 2015 to 2019 — the period after the bank dropped Epstein as a client.

Attorneys for the US Virgin Islands say Dimon is “a likely source of relevant and unique information” about why the bank kept servicing Epstein.

The US Virgin Islands also wants information about Epstein’s alleged referrals of wealthy clients.

The US Virgin Islands is seeking damages from JPMorgan for allegedly aiding in Epstein’s sex-trafficking by keeping him as a client, and missing red flags about his misconduct on Little St. James, a private island he owned.

An attorney for the U.S. Virgin Islands alleged in federal court earlier this month that Jamie Dimon knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes.
