San Diego School District Votes to Mandate Experimental COVID-19 Jab for Staff & Eligible Students

On Tuesday, the San Diego Unified School Board met to discuss a COVID-19 injection mandate for their district.

The school board unanimously voted to approve the mandate and violate the medical rights of California’s 2nd-largest school district.

Staff and students 16 years & older must be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 by December 20th.

The mandate will apply to younger students when the FDA grants a full approval to younger age groups.

As we’ve previously noted, the FDA has a horrible track record of granting approval to dangerous drugs.

And the FDA deceived the public last month for extending the EUA of the Pfizer-BioNTech injection while licensing the Comirnaty injection.

But this mandate poses an interesting question when they require staff and students to be ‘fully vaccinated.’

What will qualify as fully vaccinated by December 20th?

Will two shots count?

Or will a booster dose be required to get full vaccination status?

For students who don’t comply to the mandate, they aren’t eligible for in-person learning, sports, and after-school activities.

As for teachers, they get fired.

Here’s the latest:

FOX News reported:

The board of the San Diego Unified School District voted unanimously Tuesday evening to mandate vaccines for all staff and eligible students as a condition of in-person learning, according to reports.

The vote follows a similar decision by the Los Angeles Unified School District. Gov. Gavin Newsom also said this week that his office is discussing a statewide vaccine mandate with school districts but nothing has been decided.

Staff and students over 16 in San Diego will be required to get vaccinated by Dec. 20 to allow the second dose to take full effect before the end of winter break, FOX 5 in San Diego reported.

Eligible students not vaccinated by the deadline will have to do an independent study. They also won’t be able to participate in sports or other after-school activities. Medical exemptions will be allowed but not religious or personal belief, according to KGTV in San Diego. Students who are in a military family, homeless, a foster child, a migrant or have an IEP may be conditionally enrolled in in-person learning.

The district’s Vaccination Roadmap takes a staggered approach to mandating student vaccinations that would line up with age group approvals from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to KGTV.

“It could not be more clear that this is the right move for us to take tonight,” Board President Richard Barrera said Tuesday.

Before the vote, the board took public comments virtually.

“Your intentions may be good, but like the old saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions,” elementary school teacher Brenda Taylor told the board, saying she spoke for the unvaccinated teachers and staff who were afraid of retaliation. “This flawed proposal that you’re hiding behind the word of science as if it’s absolute. We know that science is not perfect.”

Anti-vaccine protesters also staged a demonstration outside of the district office Tuesday.

From the Los Angeles Times:

The board meeting followed a rally involving several hundred people protesting the mandate in front of the San Diego Unified School District headquarters.

“Tonight we’re making a statement that we believe in the science, we believe in the process and that we are serious about this, that we want to protect children,” School Board Vice President Sharon Whitehurst-Payne said during the meeting.

The new San Diego Unified rules make full COVID vaccination mandatory for students when the vaccine is fully approved for their age group by the Food and Drug Administration.

Currently the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is fully approved for people age 16 and older.

It has emergency authorization for children age 12 to 15. Last week, the vaccine’s maker announced results that show its COVID vaccine is also safe and effective for children ages 5 to 11, and the companies are pursuing emergency authorization approval for that age group.

San Diego Unified students 16 or older now have to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 20 to attend school in person. Those who do not comply will be required to do remote learning, via independent study, according to the district’s plan.

Students under 16 will be tested regularly for COVID until a vaccine is fully approved for their age group.

Medical exemptions will be allowed, but not personal belief exemptions, the district said.

Students may be “conditionally enrolled” in in-person learning if they are in a disadvantaged group, such as if they are homeless, have disabilities, or are military or foster youth, San Diego Unified said.

The mandate also makes full vaccination against COVID a requirement for employment with the district by Dec. 20. The district will be able to fire or otherwise discipline employees who don’t comply.

About 65% of San Diego Unified students 12 and older have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, the district said; 57% have been fully vaccinated.
