Liberty On Display: Georgia PROHIBITS Local Bureaucrats From Ordering Vaccine And Mask Mandates

I was really angry at Georgia Governor Brian Kemp late last year…..

He abandoned us at a time of great need—perhaps the time of our greatest need, and chose to peddle the state sponsored narrative that Georgia’s elections were safe and secure.

I have to give credit where credit is due though, and the executive order Brian Kemp just signed deserves applause all around.

Reports highlight the new executive order which prohibits local officials from issuing vaccine or mask mandates, this is a HUGE step.

Other Republican leaders need to take note: this is how it’s done:

The Epoch Times reports:

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Thursday signed an executive order that prohibits local governments from ordering businesses to adopt mask or COVID-19 vaccine mandates, saying the measure is necessary to “protect” private businesses.

The executive order bars local officials from mandating the orders, but allows private businesses to require masks or vaccines, Kemp told reporters during a press conference.

“There are some across our state who want to go back into lockdown mode,” the Republican governor said, noting the current indoor mask mandates in Atlanta and Savannah. “Local governments will not be able to force businesses to be the city’s mask police, the vaccine police, or any other burdensome restriction.”

The Hill adds:

The governor has long opposed statewide mandates and initially tried to bar local mask mandates last summer. He eventually eased his order to allow cities and counties to impose limited rules.

Georgia is among the states with the lowest vaccination rate in the country, less than 50 percent of its total population. Kemp has urged Georgians to consult with their most trusted medical professional about getting vaccinated.
