Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Blasts Biden Administration In Last Speech

Israel’s Prime Minister didn’t hold his tongue in his last speech in front of the Knesset.

Netanyahu was recently replaced by Naftali Bennett in a 60-59 vote by Israel’s parliament but Netanyahu didn’t take the defeat silently but let out all of his frustrations in his last speech and even took a shot at the Biden administration while he was at it.

The ousted Prime Minister was quoted saying “The new US administration requested that I save our disagreements on the Iran nuclear deal for behind closed doors, and not share them publicly,” and then went on to say: “I told them I won’t act that way.”

He made the statement in reference to the Biden administration running back to the Iran nuclear deal after the Trump administration got rid of it.

Outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday blasted President Biden’s policy approach to Iran in a “scorched earth” final address to the parliament — comparing the US return to the Iran nuclear deal to President Franklin Roosevelt declining to bomb the train tracks to Auschwitz when he had the opportunity.

In his last Knesset address as prime minister, a defiant Netanyahu spoke for more than half an hour, declaring that he would no longer keep his foreign policy disagreements with the Biden administration “behind closed doors.”

“The new US administration requested that I save our disagreements on the Iran nuclear deal for behind closed doors, and not share them publicly,” Netanyahu said Sunday, according to the Times of Israel. “I told them I won’t act that way.”

“In 1944, at the height of the Holocaust, US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt refused to bomb the railway leading to the extermination camps, and refused to bomb the gas chambers, which could have saved millions of our people. We hoped for others to save us, and they didn’t come. In the face of the threat of extermination, we were helpless,” he went on.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used his final speech in front of the Knesset Sunday to vow a swift return to office, attack his replacement and call out the Biden administration’s effort to revive the nuke deal with Iran.

Netanyahu, 71, stepped aside for the new coalition government led by Naftali Bennett, who became the new prime minister after a 60-59 vote. President Biden quickly congratulated the new government.

Bennett’s office said he later spoke by phone with Biden, thanking him for his warm wishes and long-standing commitment to Israel’s security.

Netanyahu described Bennett, who was once his ally, as a political lightweight who does not have the talent to handle the job.

Netanyahu went on to talk about the challenges in dealing with the U.S. He said “the administration” in Washington had asked him “not to discuss our disagreement on Iran publicly.”

“But with all due respect, I can’t do that,” Netanyahu said, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The paper said Netanyahu compared the attempt by the U.S. to return to the Iran nuke deal to the decision by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt not to bomb the train tracks that led to Auschwitz — the concentration camp — when there was an opportunity in 1944.
