Gun and ammunition sales in June skyrocket to 145%.

As civil unrest and the coronavirus pandemic continue to grip the nation, gun and ammunition sales just hit an all-time high for the month of June.

In the month of June, more than 2.3 million guns were sold, which is a 145% increase from last year.

Far-left groups are continuing to call for the defunding of the police while violence is at an all-time high in many major cities.

Americans now realize that the only sure way to stay safe is to take the protection of themselves and their families into their own hands.

Here's more from Fox News.

More than 2.3 million guns were sold in June, a 145 percent increase from the prior year, with experts attributing the staggering number to unrest in the wake of George Floyd's, according to statistics released Wednesday.

An estimated 2,387,524 guns were sold in June 2020, data from Small Arms Analytics and Forecasting show. SAAF examines the raw data obtained from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS.

June marks the fourth month that has seen a noticeable increase in gun sales, with May, April and March reporting year-over-year increases of 80.2 percent, 71.3 percent and 85.3 percent, respectively, according to previously released SAAF data.

“Relative to same-month sales in June 2019, firearm sales soared yet again in June 2020,” said Jurgen Brauer, SAAF’s chief economist.

“Once more, demand was particularly strong for handguns. The first week of June saw especially high background check volumes, presumably related to the aftermath of the killing of Mr. George Floyd."

Backround checks are also at an all-time high.

Meanwhile, women are buying guns at a much higher rate than usual.

CNN has more:

Background checks for firearms purchases reached an all-time high in March and maintained record highs for April and May, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a firearms trade association that monitors gun sale-related background checks to track industry trends.

Semi-automatic handguns outpaced shotguns by a two-to-one margin as the weapons of choice among first-time gun buyers, according to gun merchants surveyed by NSSF.

The latest national background check stats won't be available until July, but since Floyd's death on Memorial Day, NSSF Director of Public Affairs Mark Oliva said gun sellers have reported a sales spike similar to the one caused by the coronavirus.

"You're seeing a reaction to people's concerns about being able to provide safety for themselves and the ones that they love," Oliva told CNN Business.

More than 6.5 million gun-sale background checks were conducted from January 1 through April 30, according to the latest NSSF research, which showed a 48% year-over-year rise from the same period in 2019. Firearms retailers surveyed by NSSF in May estimated that 40% of their sales came from first-time gun buyers.

Oliva said 40% of those first-time gun buyers were women, a relatively high rate for that demographic group. Although gun sales have been up across the country, a rise in first-time gun buyers in left-leaning states like California have helped fuel the national uptick in firearms and ammunition purchases, he noted.

"People are coming off the fences and the sidelines and they're making decisions with their wallets about where they are in this debate about firearms ownership," Oliva said.

Guns are selling so quickly, that many retailers are already running out of firearms and ammunition.

Many people are panicked by these numbers.

What some fail to realize is that the constant fear mongering and continuous calls to defund the police from members of the media and the Democrats are key reasons why sales are spiking.
